Currently, Most Americans are of the opinion that militia groups and their members are radical, right-wing extremist, who spend their time planning to overthrow the government through the use of violence. Militia members are viewed as gun-toting racists, bigots, and criminals. Certainly there have been individuals who have acted under the disguise of the militia and who have had a seriously negative impact on its public image. These incidents have pushed the militia movement into the fringe and outskirts of our society, and hindered the militia from holding and securing its proper place in America.
The truth is that the militia is you and me, and every adult over the age of 18 who has the mental and physical ability to assist the militia in its primary function: to defend the rights and liberties of all citizens from enemies either foreign or domestic. This all inclusive body does and should never discriminate against anyone for any reason, including race, sex, religion and/or politics.
The road to restore the militia is fraught with obstacles and challenges. All Americans should take great pride in the fact that there are still individuals willing to define themselves as members of the militia. The acts of a few individuals, the relentless negative press from most of the nation's media outlets, and finally, and most importantly, the public's negative stereotype of what and who make up the militia has driven the last and best defense of our inalienable rights into relative hiding. These perceptions will be challenged and changed.
With the current economic downturn and the fact that no real end is in sight, Americans should be preparing for the worst while praying for the best. Americans should be looking at organizing groups that provide security in their local communities separate from state and federal entities. Americans should be forming or joining a local militia unit.
If you are interested in finding out more about militia units in SC, NC, or GA or forming a militia unit, you can find more information on this site. Thank you and God bless.
This is a starting block to revitalize the Militia in South Carolina but work together with North Carolina Militias & Georgia Militias to form the "Sons of the South", Home to the GA, NC, & SC Militia's. This website is to recruit and organize a greater number of individuals that have the same concerns about what this country is facing now and what is to come in the future. This is no way to ‘compete’ or ‘disband’ the existing militias, this is just something to help in the effort. We welcome any and all other militias that are already established to join, comment, or assist in the process of this new chapter, Thanks!
I am the foundation of a Free society... I have been a tradition since ancient times... My stands at Lexington and Concord gave birth to this nation... I am recognized by the Constitution and the Bill of Rights; and according to the authors of those documents, I am composed of the whole body of the people... I am the Militia. I have the Right and the Duty to be armed, ready to defend my home, my community and my country... I am prepared to take care of myself and my family in the event of a disaster... I am prepared to help my neighbors in times of hardship or emergency... I am a good citizen, good neighbor and an asset to my community... I have undertaken all these things as my lifetime Obligations. My Responsibility is inescapable and my Duty is unquestionable... I believe that as long as there are Free men and women, there will be a Militia, and as long as there is a Militia, there will be Free men and women... I am proud to call myself a Militiaman.
One of Sons of the South's objectives is to have everyone of our members CERT trained, and to form a qualified CERT unit.
CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team, and it is a Citizen Corp program open to citizen volunteers and is right up our alley. Each CERT unit is trained in wide variety of skills that deal with both natural and manmade disasters. Training includes CPR certification, difibrilator qualification, disaster preparedness, search and rescue operations, and working with local authorities. More advaned training is available and requires additional classes and training.
This type of outreach will allow the Sons of the South to be seen in the public eye in a positive light. It will create a higher level of trust between the SOS and local and state authorities. We view the opportunity as a return to the Militia's traditional role, since Militias were truly the first emergency response units that existed in the United States of America.
We will keep you posted on the process of becoming a qualified CERT team. If you have questions or would like to assist us, please feel free to contact us at scmilitia82@gmail.com.
